A breakthrough has been achieved in long-distance curved belt conveyor technology, successfully addressing the challenges of transporting materials across complex terrains.

　　In recent years, long-distance curved belt conveyor technology has achieved remarkable breakthroughs, successfully overcoming the challenges of material transportation in complex terrains. This technology features specially designed curved sections that enable the conveyor belt to run along pre-defined arc-shaped tracks, allowing for flexible layouts with a minimum horizontal turning radius of 300 meters and vertical incline angles up to 30°. The maximum single-machine conveying distance can exceed 15 kilometers. For example, a coal mine in Inner Mongolia has deployed an ultra-long curved conveyor system measuring 18.6 kilometers, which continuously traverses six horizontal bends and two vertical concave curves. Coupled with an intelligent control system that ensures power balance among multiple motors, the load deviation among driving units is stabilized within ±3%. As a result, the mine’s annual coal-handling capacity has surpassed 20 million tons, while energy consumption has been reduced by 60% compared to traditional truck transportation.

　　The technological core lies in dynamic stability control and intelligent monitoring: A deep-groove roller assembly is employed to create a natural curvature, complemented by a hydraulic tensioning system that dynamically adjusts belt tension, ensuring uniform friction along curved sections. By leveraging digital twin technology, a three-dimensional stress model is constructed to predict potential wear risk points in curved sections up to three months in advance. Equipped with X-ray flaw detection equipment, the system monitors the condition of the steel-cord core in real time, while infrared thermography is used to track the temperature of the drive motor—thus establishing a comprehensive, full-lifecycle maintenance system. In a project in Shanxi, this system successfully achieved “zero” belt misalignment, kept dust concentrations below 4 mg/m³, and reduced equipment downtime due to failures to just 0.3%. It provides critical technological support for the green transformation of industries such as mining, ports, and power generation.
